Hmm... I could probably argue for and against this, but to begin with I will say of all the art forms present in society, cinema is one of the most influential. It has a massive audience and incorporates two of the major human senses, unlike many which are predominantly a visual or aural only experience. Whether it be a film commenting on society or a movie sending you on some fantastical journey, humans will always have a strong connection to these silver screen stories and will almost certainly walk out of a cinema feeling at least slightly differently about something in/or about their life, even if it just temporary. Everything about this art form is glamorized from its actors to its makers and often these people use their status and their abilities to push issues with the public and throughout history we have seen many films become the catalyst for a shift in social views, trends and even ways of life.
